My Boys Club
by Julie Lancaster View Bio
We sit around the table in the glass conference room at the Push Agency, Jonathan Sacks’s company. He’s our coach this year. Last year it was Scott Novis, the owner of Game Truck.
It’s me and the boys, and we are all CEOs. I just looked it up and globally, 5.4% of CEOs are women. Doing my best to represent.
For the past 2 years, I’ve been a participant in the Business Accelerator of Entrepreneurs’ Organization. It’s a hefty commitment of 1-2x a month to Phoenix. We grow our competence in 4 categories: people, money, strategy, & execution. The group is fully transparent which is so refreshing. We talk about all the details of our business from revenue to personnel issues and we hold each other’s secrets. I walk out of those sessions every time with a giant follow-up list. It gives me the space to think and forces me to ask questions to get help from my peers.
Homework I’ve given myself after various EO days:
- Revamping all of my accounting categories and profit & loss report.
- Creating a bonus structure.
- Changing pricing.
- Hiring internationally.
- Changing our whole electronic filing system & getting role and department clarity.
- Crafting my ideal work week.
- Updating all SOPs & checklists.
- Tracking facilitator contributions.
- Actually having consistent team meetings.
- Leaning into AI/ChatGPT.
- Creating a lifestyle ambition plan with Mark.
- Creating a Trust and earlier retirement goal.
- The goals and the work have been hefty, and I am so so grateful.
