Talk about reach and service! In 2019, NACOG served more than 40,000 people, and their services are far-reaching. NACOG is a diverse agency offering a variety of services and supports to children, families and the aging population and communities in Apache, Coconino, Navajo and Yavapai Counties. Their mission – “Cooperating regionally to improve life in northern Arizona” – highlights their philosophy of collaboration and goal of service to the local governments and citizens in the region. NACOG offers many programs that directly assist individuals and families, while also providing planning services that support regional infrastructure, economic and community development projects. This organization puts their heads and hearts into serving their clients and local governments across northern Arizona. Together with Lancaster Leadership they have participated in strategic planning, stakeholder interviews, employee surveys, leadership academies, facilitated training & development, and coaching focusing on a variety of topics ranging from standardization to culture creation. Their drive, passion for excellence, and servant leadership mentality is exemplary.

Expectations get a bad rap. “Happiness is reality minus expectations,” is a refrain I hear from some seemingly enlightened circles, and it sounds good in theory. “The moment you stop having expectations is the moment you start having peace,” I think was said by people who don’t actually live in reality.
