Cathy Steers
Cathy Steers is the Director of Human Resources for the Northern Arizona Council of Governments (NACOG). She has worked at both non-profits and Fortune 50 multi-nationals in a variety of Human Resources roles. She received a BS in Economics and Geology from Tufts University. After realizing that it was not the most practical of all majors, she returned to school and received a MBA in Organizational Behavior and Design from Columbia University. While taking a detour from Human Resources, she worked in a Restorative Justice program which provided court diversion for juveniles and family and divorce mediation. She relocated from Northern New England to Flagstaff in 2011 and was delighted to discover that there is no “biting, stinging, and annoying” flying insect season. However, she is still unmoved by the “but it’s a dry heat” explanation. When not at NACOG, she can usually be found on something with 2 wheels.
